Christmas Break "Homework"

Merry Christmas!!!

I pray all of my third graders will have a wonderful, enjoyable time away from school for Christmas break.

For homework, I would like for them to read for 20 minutes each day (Monday through Friday) for a total of 300 minutes.  (15 days times 20 minutes)  If they cannot read each day, then they can 'catch up' on weekends.

Also, I want them to make their own multiplication flash cards for 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.  They can make these using 3x5 index cards or some other type of thick paper.  (An example of one would be to put 6x3 on one side and the other side would say 6x3=18.)

Enjoy your time together as a family.  May God bless each and every one of you as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Blessings,
Ms. Anita

Homework for Mon., Dec. 9

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to let you know about homework until now.  I'm doing better, thanks to some antibiotics.

Homework for Mon., Dec. 9

Math:  p. 111, 112, 113, 114 and boardwork

Reading:  Ms. Lucy's work

Science:  Project due Dec. 12.  Also, finish reading p. 98-101, Quiz Tom. (p. 90-101) and Test Wed. (Chapters 4-6)

Spelling:  List 18 5x

Also, I asked each student to bring his/her own pencil sharpener.  Several students are having to borrow a pencil sharpener every day.  This causes us to use valuable class time just to have pencils sharpened and ready to use.  Please try to get a sharpener that will last and do a good job.  For some reason, some sharpeners do not seem to do a very good job at sharpening pencils.  Thank you.

Reading - Read for 20 minutes

Spelling - PreTest Tom. for List 16  AND  11 out of 20 students (who were in attendance today) were to write their words 5x again because of not following directions during Language class time.

Please note:  Tomorrow the students will need to wear their uniforms... per Mrs. Lucy. (This is a change from what the school newsletter indicated)  The photographer will be taking class group pictures tomorrow.  The children who still need to have individual photos taken may bring clothes to change into.  Please call the school office with any questions regarding this.  The number is:  684-699-9254

Homework for Mon., Nov. 25

Sorry for not getting a plan ready to post for this week.  Since it's a short week, we will have our Spelling Pre-Test on Wednesday (like normal), but the Final Test will be next Monday, Dec. 1.

Homework for tonight...

Math:  Write Times Tables 1-7

Science:  Work on project

Reading:  Read for 30 minutes

Spelling:  Write words 5x for List 16

Quite a few students finished writing their spelling words in class even though one student only wrote them three times... and they were from the wrong list.  Ah well...  life goes on!  :)
